DHL Delivery Hours: How Late Does DHL Deliver?

How late DHL delivers depends on which DHL network has your package. DHL Express's US delivery services page lists delivery by 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM or 12:00 PM on the next possible day for Express 9:00, Express 10:30 and Express 12:00, and gives Express Worldwide, Express Envelope and Express Domestic an "End of Day" commitment. In the US, your regular mail carrier delivers DHL eCommerce parcels: DHL's eCommerce tracking support page says they are "delivered by your United States Postal Service (USPS) carrier," and USPS's Delayed Mail and Packages FAQ says deliveries should be made by 5:00 p.m. local time, Monday through Saturday.

Which DHL has my package?

DHL Express is DHL's courier service, and its delivery services page marks every Express service "Door to Door Courier Delivered." DHL eCommerce is the parcel service online stores use to ship to shoppers. Its US domestic shipping page describes a "Workshare partnership with the United States Postal Service (USPS)," and DHL's eCommerce tracking support page says a US package arrives with your USPS carrier "at the time they typically deliver your mail."

DHL Express's US delivery services page lists these services under "Delivered on Next Possible Day," split into export, import and domestic tables:

What does "by end of day" mean on DHL tracking?

"End of Day" is the delivery commitment DHL Express's delivery services page gives Express Worldwide, Express Envelope and Express Domestic, and that table gives no clock time for it. Read it as "some time on the scheduled delivery day," so an evening delivery on that day doesn't by itself mean the package ran late.

If a shipment has to arrive by a set hour, the shipper needs to book Express 9:00, 10:30 or 12:00, the three services DHL's delivery services page backs with a money-back guarantee.

Does DHL deliver on Saturday or Sunday?

DHL Express doesn't offer Saturday delivery in the US. Its US optional services page says Saturday Delivery "is not available in the U.S. & US territories," and describes it elsewhere as a delivery made at the shipper's request, in selected postal code areas where Saturday is not a normal working day.

DHL eCommerce parcels can arrive on a Saturday, because a USPS carrier makes the delivery and USPS's Delayed Mail and Packages FAQ says deliveries should be made Monday through Saturday. Don't count on Sunday: USPS's FAQ says Priority Mail Express and Amazon parcels are the only mail it delivers on Sunday. None of the DHL Express pages linked here, checked October 8, 2026, lists a Sunday delivery option.

Delivery hours outside the US

Outside the US, delivery days and times depend on the destination country and the service the shipper chose, so check the DHL website for the country the package is going to. For DHL eCommerce, DHL's eCommerce tracking support page says international packages are delivered by the local delivery service provider for the destination country, which can be the local post office.

My DHL package is late. What should I do?

For a DHL Express shipment, start with the tracking page. If the shipper marked the delivery address as residential, DHL Express's optional services page says DHL notifies the receiver by email or SMS about the shipment's progress, and the receiver can choose a delivery option on the On Demand Delivery website. If the package misses its scheduled day, contact DHL Express customer service or the shipper.

For a DHL eCommerce parcel, DHL's eCommerce tracking FAQ says to contact your merchant or online shop if the shipment hasn't arrived within 10 days after the expected delivery time, and that only the merchant or shop can file a claim, because they are DHL eCommerce's contract partner.
